About
I was born in South Africa and grew up on our family farm near Lydenburg. After school I took the plunge and packed my bags for for the bright lights of Joburg to fulfill a life-long dream of a career in show business and to get a degree under my belt. I graduated from AFDA, The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance in 2008 with a degree in Live Performance.
I think it’s safe to say that sport has always been my thing. I excelled at it during high school and my parents’ mantelpiece is filled with my trophies. My greatest achievements include participating at the South African Championships, the USSASA Championships, the ASA Championships and SA Games. Once the sporting bug bit me, there was no going back. I don’t just love participating, I’m also an avid sports fan and follower – you could say it’s a bit of an addiction.
Besides being sporty I’ve been told that I’m not too bad at singing, dancing, acting and modeling. I started modeling when I was 16 and have worked with some of South Africa’s leading photographers and designers. I’ve graced the sets of Generations and Isidingo for a while (my mother is extremely proud of that last bit). I still take the odd dance class to keep in shape and mentor some up and coming models.
2009 was an exciting year for me. I became involved in social media and social networking and as they say, one thing led to another. After a couple of Red Bulls during a Bulls game my partner and I came up with the idea of RuggaChick - rugby commentary that is new, fresh, different and presented by me, a chick who likes rugby, a lot.
When the 2010 Super 14 season kicked off so did RuggaChick and it’s been growing ever since. Every week I produce full HD video's with updates on the weekends games and results that is then posted on my various channels and website. I’m also active on all the social media sites and let’s just say it’s been a bit of a learning curve, but an extremely rewarding experience and one that I’m tremendously grateful for. Although it’s still early days RuggaChick has been growing hand over fist and I’m very excited about the future.
